横手と美味しい焼きそばを知ってもらい、日本を代表するご当地グルメに!

Let's get Yokote and its delicious yakisoba known and make it a representative local gourmet dish of Japan!

Yokote Yakisoba Norenkai celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 with the philosophies of "promoting delicious yakisoba together with the Yokote region," "raising awareness of the town of Yokote," and "raising awareness of Yokote city through Yokote Yakisoba."

Currently, there are about 35 member stores, but Yokote Yakisoba has a long history and is said to have started as a food stall in Yokote City in the late 1940s. In the late 1950s, there were apparently around 100 stores.

It started out as a food stall and gradually began to be offered in sweet shops as well.
Nowadays, most people put pickled ginger on their yakisoba, but at the time, children who bought yakisoba at candy stores would find pickled ginger too spicy, so Yokote Yakisoba was topped with fukujinzuke pickles to make it easier for children to eat, and it has been popular since then.
*There are various theories

We hope that in the future, people from all over Japan, and even overseas, will enjoy these local dishes that have a long history in Yokote and have flavors that have remained unchanged for many years, and that they will become a representative local gourmet dish of Japan!
